First thing you have to do it pick out a personal photo. When we had portraits taken last time I fell in love with so many of them, we bought the disk. This means I have copyright info and could legally use them. SCORE! I wanted a picture that had a "timeless" feel to it. We regularly change out photos, but with this being canvas, I knew it would be up forever.
I went with this one:
Sorry. Too cute to not include a mark. So I picked out the picture, decided on the size. I could either choose a 11"x14" or get a $53.95 credit. I went for the 11"x14". Seemed easiest.
When you are designing the picture you can choose how you wrap it: image wrap, mirror wrap, black sides, white sides, or color. With the way the picture is, I didn't want to choose image wrap. I didn't want to lose part of a boy on the side. I also didn't want a plain side, so I picked the mirror wrap.
After I placed my order, it took a few days and then they sent me a proof approval. There was a note in the proof that said that they made sure to take out the duplicated part of the kids. I thought that was pretty awesome that they noticed that and fixed it even before sending me the proof!
This is the proof. I like how you can see the sides and corners even so you know EXACTLY what to expect.
I couldn't be happier with the result. I probably should have picked a colored picture for the review, but I gotta be happy too!
Here are a few shots of the mirror wrap:
You can see the mirror effect really well on the left side with the shadow at the shoes.
